Four decades of furniture. One question that wouldn’t go away.
Long before Cedra, there was sawdust, a workbench and a family that made furniture for a living. Since 1984, our family has built and sold furniture in Istanbul, from a 3,000 m² workshop to three showrooms where customers walk in, touch the wood and tell us exactly what they want.
That is where we learned our trade: wood tells the truth. A well-dried board stays flat for decades. A rushed finish shows within a year. And a customer remembers the one piece that lasted far longer than the price they paid.
Our founder, Can Ensar Aktaş, trained as an interior architect and spent years designing spaces around natural materials. Every road led to the same place: Jepara, the centre of Javanese woodcraft, where families have carved teak for generations.
A workshop of our own in Jepara
There, we built a 5,000 m² workshop with three warehouses and a team of experienced artisans. They work solid teak by hand, joint by joint, then finish it with the care we expect in our own Istanbul workshop.
Bali-inspired. Honestly made.
The result is Cedra: a Bali-inspired collection with clean lines, natural textures and honest construction, made to order for retailers, interior designers and hospitality projects.
We are a small, focused team, which means you talk to the people who design and build your pieces. We send samples before your first order, we adapt sizes and finishes to your project, and we stay in touch from the first message to the day your container arrives.
Cedra Teak Collection is part of Charisma Home, a furniture manufacturer and retailer based in Istanbul.
